About Verdad
We build the way we were taught to: show up early, measure twice, tell the truth about what you find behind the drywall, and leave the site cleaner than you found it.
How it started
Juan Pina came to Spokane from Michoacán as a young man in the late nineties, working under a rotation of older finish carpenters and framers who kept him on the tools — and kept him humble. In 2003 he bought his first truck and started taking small remodels on weekends. By 2007 he'd left the last full-time crew to run his own.
The rule he started with is the same rule we run on today: la verdad no cuesta más — the truth doesn't cost extra. If the bid needs to move, the homeowner hears it the same day. If a subfloor is rotten, we show it before we cover it. If we're wrong, we eat it.
How it's going
Juan's son Angel picked up his first nail gun at twelve and never really put it down. He finished a construction management program at Spokane Community College, spent two years on a commercial crew learning how big jobs are actually scheduled and sequenced, and came back to the family shop in 2019 to modernize how we run.
Today Angel handles estimates, scheduling, and client communication. Juan still leads the field — on every job, every day. That hand-off is the whole point: you get a crew that's been doing this long enough to know, and young enough to answer a text.
What we're built on
Honest bids, honest timelines, honest conversations when something changes. You hear it from us first.
Work as service. A job well done is a way of loving your neighbor — whether it's theirs or ours.
Your house isn't a job number. Our crew treats it the way they'd treat their mother's — boots off, voice down.
The trade is a thing you earn, year after year. We respect it enough to never phone it in.
How we work
Juan or Angel comes to your space, listens more than he talks, and asks what "done" looks like to you. No charge, no obligation, no pitch.
Line-itemed, not lump-sum. You see what materials cost, what labor costs, and where the contingency sits. Back to you within a week.
Clean start, clean site, weekly updates with photos. Juan is on site every day. Angel is reachable by phone, text, or email.
We hand over a punch-list you sign off on — and a one-year workmanship warranty you shouldn't need to use, but can.
Angel or Juan will come to your space, listen, and give you a straight answer about what it'll take.
